First of all I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Thanks!

Thank you for your kind words. To be honest, it often takes me much longer to clear my head than 10 to 15 minutes. One thing that gets me into the process much faster is to use a quote from someone else to start with. If I try to write from a theme or idea I don’t have anything concrete to work from and so I often have a very difficult time writing, so I use someone else’s words to get me going, something to center my thoughts around. I hope this helps.
